Today's Football Betting News:

Tottenham and Watford kick off a weekend of FA Cup 4th round fixtures on Friday evening as The Lilywhites travel to Vicarage Road. Also in action on Friday are Everton and Fulham in one of six all Premier Leageu ties.

QPR take on Chelsea at midday on Saturday, shortly followed by a potentially classic FA Cup tie when Liverpool host Manchester Untied at Anfield; a fixture that the bookies can barely pick a favourite for in their football betting odds.

On Sunday Sunderland host Middlesbrough in a North East derby before Arsenal at Aston Villa round off the weekend at the Emirates.

All eyes are on the domestic scene for the month of January as the FA Cup third and fourth rounds take place alongside two Carling Cup semi-finals. Cardiff and Crystal Palace will battle it out for the right to face Liverpool or Manchester City at Wembley in the League Cup final, while Kenny Dalglish’s side take on Manchester United in the pick of the fourth round ties.

In between cup competitions the Premier League title race and relegation battles continue apace. United’s disappointing festive period means that City maintain their position as Premier League Betting favourites, but while Chelsea and Arsenal have slipped by the way side it is fellow Londoners Tottenham that have emerged as the most genuine title challengers from the capital.

At the bottom of the table Blackburn manager Steve Kean continues to defy the football betting odds and maintains his employment status. His side are battling it out with Wigan and Bolton in the relegation zone while Wolves and Queens Park Rangers drift perilously close to the trap door.

Football Betting News

The majority of football betting news at this time of the year revolves around the January transfer market. With the window open for a short period of just 31 days managers scamper around looking for players that can both strengthen their squad and offer value for money at a time when players are often available at inflated prices.

David Beckham, Thierry Henry and Robbie Keane have all been linked with loan returns to the Premier League from their respective MLS clubs. The Carlos Tevez saga continues to rumble on, and will do so until he finds a suitable club. Gary Cahill is expected to leave Bolton this month while Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are all being linked with moves for various world-class players.

Martin O’Neill is also expected to delve into the transfer market for Sunderland. The Black Cats have coped well with a shortage of striker since the new manager’s arrival, but will be keen to boost their ranks. And QPR are expected to dominate many football betting news headlines as they first look to bring in a new manager, then subsequently delve into the transfer market.
