Appleton has respect of players but lacks experience

The decision a few days ago to relieve Roberto Di Matteo of his duties at West Bromwich Albion sent shock waves through the footballing world, or at least parts of the West Midlands.

I myself was quite surprised at the news, but from what I can gather it had been on the cards for a while, and it could have been the Wigan result rather than being taken apart by Tevez and co that was the final straw, there is even talk that not all was right during last year’s promotion season.  It now falls on Jeremy Peace and the board to find someone to take over in what is a vital time for the Albion with home games against fellow strugglers West Ham and Wolves upcoming.
