With the Cheltenham Festival taking centre stage this week it is perhaps a fitting time to declare the Charity Bet Tipster Competition as a one horse race. Another win for Andy last week took his total over the £100 mark and, with nobody else picking out a winner, gives him a buffer in excess of £50 at the top.
But it’s not about the winning it’s about earning money for charity. Honestly. No, honestly it its…. Okay, maybe there is a little bit of rivalry. Okay, there’s a lot. Anyway, here’s the table.
1.Andy Brassell – £112.25
2.IBWM – £43.00
3.Iain Macintosh – £38.50
4.Jonathan Wilson – £17.25
5.Ben Lyttleton – £17.25
So, Andy is certainly the man to follow at the moment. But the rest are surely due a winner soon. If you’d like to follow any of the below tips then you can do so with a £35 free bet with the competition’s kind sponsors Titanbet.
AB – Sunderland to beat Everton @ 3/1
If one thing is guaranteed to court failure, it’s medium-sized teams resting players for supposedly bigger matches ahead. Everton may live to regret sticking all their eggs in an FA Cup-shaped basket. The on-fire (well, comparatively) Nicklas Bendtner to down a Mersey team for the second successive week, I say.
JW – Everton to beat Sunderland @ 19/20
Sunderland haven´t won at Goodison Park since 1996 and will be without Lee Cattermole and Stephane Sessegnon. Everton, despite Tuesday´s defeat, are on the up. Can´t see anythng other than a comfortable home win, much as I´d like to.
BL – Everton to beat Sunderland @ 19/20
David Moyes really wants to win a trophy this year, his tenth in charge, and the FA Cup is all that’s left for him. Everton have already beaten Chelsea and Spurs this season, and Moyes made his priorities pretty clear by resting six first-teamers for Tuesday’s derby defeat against Liverpool. Moyes would look foolish if Everton slumped again, which is why I fancy Everton to sneak this one.
IBWM – Ben Arfa to score anytime @ 9/4
Fancy going a little bit crazy here and with a starting berth looking a lot more likely, as well as a little bit of form kicking in, I’m going for Hatem Ben Arfa as an anytime scorer for Newcastle against Norwich. 9/4 not looking the worst value.
IM – Man Utd v Wolves – Over 3.5 goals @ 27/20
I need a win. I need a win so bad, I’m getting the shakes. I was tempted just to back Man Utd to beat Wolves AND THAT’S IT, but that is the way of the coward and the communist. How about this? United, licking their wounds, to go to town on a free-falling Watford. I’ll back more than 3.5 goals.
