Charity Bet Tipster Competition: Week Eleven

January 26th, 2012 by Jaymes Monte

It’s back to FA Cup action this week as our tipsters look to swell their charity’s coffers with another Charity Bet…

The guys at In Bed With Maradona were the only ones able to add to their balance last week as Danny Welbeck’s strike ensured that the Arsenal v Man Utd game ended with more than 2.5 goals. Ben was denied three consecutive winners by Mario Balotelli’s late penalty at the Etihad while Andy was accurate in his reasoning that Chelsea wouldn’t take all three points from Carrow Road, but unfortunately for him neither could Norwich.

Mario Balotelli apologises to Scott Parker.

Scott Parker sheds a tear for Ben's losing bet.

  1. Andy Brassell – £62.25
  2. Iain Macintosh – £39.50
  3. IBWM – £21.50
  4. Jonathan Wilson – £17.25
  5. Ben Lyttleton – £6.50

If you think that Andy talks sense, Iain’s got his head screwed on or Jonathan’s musings are worth following then you can back their selections with our Charity Bet Tipster Competition sponsors over at Titanbet. What’s that you say? You don’t have an account with Titanbet. Fear not, for you can sign up by clicking here and also receive a £35 free bet in the process.

IBWM – Fulham to beat Everton @ 53/20

If Fulham aren’t in the rudest of rude health confidence wise this week, then there is something seriously wrong. Goals looked easy against Newcastle for Martin Jol’s side at the weekend, but it’s a rarity that the same can be said for Everton.  With this in mind, I’m going Fulham to win at Goodison.

AB – Watford to beat Tottenham @ 111/20

If you’re going to bet on the FA Cup, it has to be on the prospect of a shock, right? Right. I’m not really sure that Middlesbrough getting a result at Sunderland would fall into that category with a) Boro globally going well in the Championship and b) it being a local derby, so I’m going the whole hog on the Hornets. Maybe a good time to catch Spurs after the City defeat, and the disorienting properties of playing an FA Cup match on a Friday night.

JW – Sheff Utd to beat Birmingham @ 8/5

The stadium Wi-Fi in Malabo won’t let me check any betting site, so I’m betting blind here, but let’s have Sheffield United to beat Birmingham – the Blades are excellent at home, Birmingham have lost just over half their league away games, and with United being a division lower the odds presumably won’t be prohibitively low.

IM – Man Utd to beat Liverpool @ 33/20

Liverpool are bright eyed and bushy tailed after their midweek win over City, but I think they might have their hands full with United. I don’t know what the Lord Mayor’s Show is or what happens there that leaves teams so deflated, but I’ve got a feeling that Fergie will take full advantage. United to win.

BL – QPR 1-1 Chelsea @ 25/4

QPR’s last two home wins under Mark Hughes may have only been against MK Dons and Wigan, but this team does seem more solid with the new boss, while Chelsea have only won three of their last eight away from home. Add in Hughes’s Chelsea’s connection, it’s a local derby, and the Terry/Ferdinand sideshow, and this could be a tight affair.
