Can Andy hang on to top spot? Will IBWM or Iain catch him? And will Jonathan move off the bottom? All will be revealed on the final weekend of the season…

While Iain was trying to play it safe last week and reach the magical £100 mark IBWM’s bold prediction of an Arsenal/Norwich draw saw them go second and become Andy’s most likely challengers. Jonathan picked up his first win since god knows when as his ploy of betting against Sunderland eventually faltered. Leaving the table looking as follows;

1.Andy Brassell – £161.25
2.IBWM – £123
3.Iain Macintosh – £99
4.Ben Lyttleton – £42.25
5.Jonathan Wilson – £25.75

Remember, whoever finishes this week as the table toppers will be awarded an additional £50 bet token to use on the Champions League final. All of course thanks to our kind tournament sponsors Titanbet who, incidentally, are offering to refund all losing bets on the Euro 2012 outright winners market if Spain retain the title this summer. For full details and a £25 free bet sign-up here.

IBWM – Swansea v Liverpool – Over 3.5 goals @ 7/4
It’s the last round of fixtures and we’re staying away from the tussle for the title, far too many variables there for our liking so we’re taking a punt further down the league. Swansea v Liverpool catches our eye, both teams have little to play for but Swansea’s home form and Liverpool’s mini-midweek revival make us thing there’s goals in this game, more than three to be exact and that’s what we’re going for.

BL – QPR 1-0 Manchester City @ 40/1
Okay, so it’s a Hail Mary and you know what, there really aren’t that many good reasons for it. City need a win for the title and with Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure, and Carlos Tevez all on top form, they’ll probably get it. But don’t write off the City rejects, Nedum Onuoha and Joey Barton, and with Djibril Cisse not suspended for once, they might have a chance of a goal.

IM – Man City to beat QPR by four or more @ 12/5
You know how these final days go, lots and lots of tension, buckets of hyperbole and then something happens early on to render the whole thing as exciting as a parade lap in Formula One. Manchester City aren’t just going to beat QPR, they’re going to led them out into the centre-circle, pull their trousers and pants down and spank their buttocks raw in front of everyone. It’s karmic punishment for that premature pitch invasion at Loftus Road. I’ll go for City to win, by FOUR or more goals.

AB – Sunderland to beat Manchester United @ 7/1
It shouldn’t happen, but it’s been a strange old Premier League season – and I intend to finish in the spirit that has served me well through the competition. Plus, poor old Sunderland have had JW back against them every single week recently, so somebody has to believe…

JW – Sunderland 1-1 Manchester United @ 15/2
Sunderland can be a cussed, awkward team and they’ve clearly been riled by suggestions they’ll roll over for United. Expect dogged defending and a farewell goal from Nicklas Bendtner just to mess with everyone’s heads.

Time is running out for the chasing pack to catch Andy at the top…

Last week’s Charity Bet “title decider” didn’t deliver the fireworks we anticipated as Chelsea raced into a commanding early lead that scuppered both Andy and Iain’s bets. Neither IBWM, Ben nor Jonathan could muster a winner either and so the table remains unchanged going into the penultimate week.

1.Andy Brassell – £161.25
2.Iain Macintosh – £99
3.IBWM – £68.00
4.Ben Lyttleton – £42.25
5.Jonathan Wilson – £17.25

AB – Newcastle to beat Manchester City @ 4/1
Everybody thinks this will be the game that decides the league… and I’m no different. The Geordies to pull one more surprise out of the bag.

IM – Arsenal to beat Norwich @ 3/20
Forgive me for playing safe, but I just want to cross the £100 barrier. Arsenal to tighten their grip on third in much the same way that I’m tightening my grip on second. A simple home win. Don’t screw this up for me, Arsene.

IBWM – Arsenal v Norwich – The Draw @ 11/2
Time to be bold….but not too bold. Norwich pulled Spurs’ trousers down recently, let’s see them do the same in North London against an Arsenal team who thought the hard work was done.

BL – Newcastle 1-1 Man City @ 13/2
Two weeks to go and I need some correct score lines to come off. I never believed Mancini when he moaned about City’s tougher run-in but I do now. Newcastle are in great form and have a big prize to play for too. They won’t lie down for City and I can see a result that doesn’t suit either side.

JW – Fulham to beat Sunderland @ 17/20
Sunderland have all but given up and they can’t score; Fulham have been impressive at home and, although they have nothing to play for, look less exhausted than Sunderland.

After another big win last week Andy Brassell has declared the Charity Bet title race over. Will he suffer a Manchester United-style collapse?

Over £60 separates our top two in the table now, but a big win for Iain this week could still put the pressure on in the remaining two weeks. Jonathan’s persistent opposition of Sunderland means that his bottom place finish is fairly secure while IBWM have now stretched clear of Ben in the mid-table battle.

Andy is hoping that his celebrations don't turn out to be premature.

IM – QPR to beat Chelsea @ 8/1
So, let me get this straight. We’ve got one exhausted team with one, or maybe both, eyes on the Champions League Final playing against one desperate team, fighting for Premier League survival and so livid about something which…ahem…may or may not have happened the last time they met, that they won’t even shake hands? Yeah, I think I’ll go for QPR to beat Chelsea.

AB – Chlesea v QPR – Draw @ 4/1
Ok, I admit it – I’ve got the league sewn up, but it’s important to maintain the integrity of the competition, so I’ll be approaching this weekend just like I’ve approached all the other ones. QPR may be poor away, but they desperately need points, and can take advantage of a Chelsea squad drained physically and emotionally by Tuesday’s exploits. All square in the real clásico.

IBWM – Wolves to beat Swansea @ 11/2
They’ve gone and there isn’t a huge amount that can be done now, but sometimes the acceptance of relegation can lift the burden. Wolves players will know it’s too late, but will want to give a good account before they go and I fancy a win at Swansea.

BL – West Brom to beat Villa by 2 goals or more @ 14/5
Villa are heading on a downward spiral to trouble and it would be an Avram Grant-esque achievement were Alex McCleish to take two Midlands clubs down in successive seasons. After Woy’s warriors won at Anfield last week, confidence is high and a big win could push Hodgson into that Redknapp-shaped seat on England’s bench in the summer (not really, Liverpool fans). Easy win for Albion though.

JW – Bolton to beat Sunderland @ 13/5
Sunderland are finished; Bolton aren’t.

Big winners for two of our tipsters last week have really shaken things up and it’s now all to play for in the Charity Bet Tipster Competition…

Nani’s goal against Aston Villa three minutes into stoppage time at Old Trafford has put a whole new complexion on our Charity Bet Tipster Competition. The Portuguese scored United’s fourth and consequently added £33 to Iain’s charity, moving him within striking distance of Andy at the top. Ben also added £18 to his charity’s coffers and is now only pennies behind the guys at In Bed With Maradona, leaving Jonathan, and his personal crusade, languishing at the bottom of the table.

1.Andy Brassell – £131.25
2.Iain Macintosh – £99
3.IBWM – £43.00
4.Ben Lyttleton – £42.25
5.Jonathan Wilson – £17.25

AB – QPR to beat Spurs @ 3/1
When you come under attack like I have from Iain Macintosh, there’s only one thing to do. Turn off all the lights in the pool hall, and hide in the shadows shouting ‘you think you’re bigtime?’ like Pacino in Carlito’s Way.
This weekend, I will – in the style of big Al – be going for the trickshot in an attempt to blaze my way out of a tricky situation. QPR have pulled a few out of the bag at home recently, and who better than the returning Djibril Cissé to charge in and save the day?

BL – Over 2.5 Goals in QPR v Spurs @ 3/4
A draw does neither team much good, and given Spurs’s porous defence in recent weeks, plus the fact that Djibril Cisse is back from another suspension, you can see the home side scoring. What looked like a decent chance for Spurs to pick up three points on the road is now a banana-skin that could see them end the day in sixth. I fancy a high-scoring draw but given that I’m only 75p behind IBWM, I’m taking the safer option. Once I reach mid-table safety, I’ll be going after Brassell…

IBWM – Arsenal v Chelsea – the draw @ 5/2
Arsenal v Chelsea – another goal fest? Nah, it’s got 0-0 written all over it, but we aren’t that brave so let’s just go for the draw at 5/2.

IM – HT/FT – Everton/Man Utd @ 18/1
I was going to play it safe this week, you know, something simple to keep the wolf from the door, but no. I’ll have Everton to win the first half and Man Utd to win the game. Probably in injury time. Almost certainly a Scholes long shot.

JW – Aston Villa to beat Sunderland @ 5/4
Sunderland are finished. Exhausted. Bored. And they haven’t lost since I started backing them to lose. Let’s hope it keeps working.

There was no change to the table last week with all five of our tipsters picking out losing bets, one, however, will count himself extremely unlucky…

Ben could have made a giant leap up the table into third place and just behind Iain in second had the linesman spotted one of the offside goals in Chelsea’ win over Wigan. Having backed the draw at odds of 17/4 it wasn’t just Roberto Martinez cursing the referee’s assistants at Stamford Bridge. ‘They’ say that things even themselves out over the course of the season though, so perhaps Ben is the one to follow in the ocming weeks…

Will Blackburn spoil Riley's relegation BBQ?

1.Andy Brassell – £131.25
2.Iain Macintosh – £66
3.IBWM – £43.00
4.Ben Lyttleton – £24.25
5.Jonathan Wilson – £17.25

Any of this week’s tips can be followed at Titanbet where this competition’s sponsors will also give you a £35 free bet to help you along your way.

BL – Chelsea to beat Spurs @ 9/5
With no Ivanovic, Cole a doubt, and Barcelona to come in three days, this looks a tricky one for Chelsea, who escaped both league games against Spurs happy with a draw. But Roberto di Matteo has got something Harry Redknapp needs right now: luck. He had some against Benfica, and even more against Wigan, and I can see his run continuing on Sunday. Roberto for England coach, anyone?

IBWM – Sunderland to score three or more @ 17/10
We really are gutted for them but Wolves have gone already haven’t they? Martin O’Neill’s Sunderland seem to have responded well following any kind of flea in the ear, and I can’t imagine the boss will have been overjoyed with the hiding his side got at Everton last week. Put the two together and we’ll go for Sunderland to score 3 or more goals this weekend at 17/10.

And so to mind games….

If we clinch this, we could be within touching distance of Macintosh, who has clearly been conning his charity all season by not performing better…….

IM – Man Utd to win by four or more @ 33/10
There’s nothing in this world as dangerous as a wounded beast and Manchester United were given a nasty flesh wound in midweek by Wigan. I fully expect Aston Villa to pay a heavy price. Not only will Alex McLeish’s hapless Villains take a beating, but I think will be ugly. United to win by FOUR or more goals. That ought to keep those IBWM bastards off my tail.

AB – Blackburn to beat Swansea @ 13/5
Having looked as if they’d escaped, Rovers have stumbled right back into the relegation cowpat in the last few weeks. Swansea are a tough nut at home, but having looked safe(r) early (earlier) seem to have semi-knocked off for the summer of late. Rovers will win because they have to – and because if they go down before May Bank Holiday, it will ruin my mate Riley’s relegation BBQ for them that night.

JW – Wolves to beat Sunderland @ 47/10
Not a single one of these Sunderland to lose bets has worked yet, so I’m not going to change. I’d only blame myself.

There were more winners than losers from last week’s Charity Bet selections, which in itself is a rarity. How will our tipsters fare in week twenty-one?

They say that the universe has a perfect equilibrium. For every negative action there is a positive reaction. Or something like that. Well Liverpool’s downfall last week was to the advantage of both Cancer Research UK and Little Havens Children’s Hospice in Essex as both Andy and Iain bagged an extra £19 for their chosen charity by putting their £10 on Newcastle to beat Kenny Dalglish’s side. There was also a win for Ben, who moved off the bottom of the table by correctly predicting Fulham and Norwich would produce more than 2.5 goals in their match. Leaving the table looking as follows;

Doing our bit to maintain the Universe's equlibirum.

1.Andy Brassell – £131.25

2.Iain Macintosh – £66

3.IBWM – £43.00

4.Ben Lyttleton – £24.25

5.Jonathan Wilson – £17.25

As ever, any of this week’s tips can be followed at Titanbet where this competition’s sponsors will also give you a £35 free bet to help you along your way.

IM – Bendtner to score anytime @ 2/1

I’m going for a change of tactics this week. No more Mr Cowardly guy. I think Nicky Bendtner is looking sharp and I think that an ex-Arsenal player is bound to score against Spurs, so I’ll take the Not So Great Dane as an anytime scorer.

AB – Aston Villa to beat Liverpool @ 13/2

Come on – if you don’t go for outsiders, you don’t win big, do you? Villa may be looking nervously over their shoulders, but the fleeting comeback v Chelsea last weekend showed there is some fight there. And besides, when has there been a better time to play Liverpool?

IBWM – Sunderland to beat Tottenham @ 9/4

Spurs began to shuffle uncomfortably in their cosy third place armchair once a. Fabio Capello left England, b. Arsenal got the faint whiff of blood in their nostrils. With Chelsea and Newcastle now looking to put some pressure on the teams in third and fourth, Tottenham could probably do without a trip to Sunderland, who were extremely unlucky not to win at Many City last week. Home win.

BL – Chelsea v Wigan – The Draw @ 17/4

I’m not saying Wigan are better than Benfica, who I watched lose at the Bridge the other night, but they are in the best form of the bottom five and I can see Chelsea taking their foot off the gas before their run of six games in 17 days. If England’s Brave John Terry™ is missing with his cracked ribs, then there will be opportunities at the back for the visitors.

JW – Tottenham to beat Sunderland @ 6/5

The theory’s working perfectly; we haven’t actually lost a game in which I’ve backed us to lose. Let’s keep it up….
