Euro 2012 Betting

Following 18 months of qualification we are now down to 16 nations who will compete for the title of European Champions 2012. Spain go into the tournament as the overwhelming Euro 2012 betting favourites as Vincente del Bosque’s side look to make it three major titles in a row.

Germany are the pre-tournament second favourites in the betting as they look to build on an immaculate qualifying campaign that saw them winning 10 out of 10 games played. But they have been drawn in a difficult group alongside Netherlands, Denmark and Portugal and will need to hit the ground running.

The Dutch side also had a promising qualifying campaign as they won their opening nine games before losing in their final match when qualification was already confirmed.

England are the fourth-favourites in the Euro 2012 betting as they go into the competition under the stewardship of new manager Roy Hodgson after he was appointed at the end of the Premier League season. The 64-year-old has a wealth of experience on the international stage having managed Finland, Switzerland and United Arab Emirates in the past. The Three Lions will be expected to make at least the semi-final stages of the tournament.

  • Euro 2012 Venues

The 2012 European Championships are to be jointly hosted by Poland and Ukraine, with four venues in each country. New stadia have been erected in Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Poznan in Poland and Kiev, Doetsk, Kharkiv and Lviv in Ukraine. Capacities at the grounds range from 35,000 up to 60,000, with the final to be played at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev.

The host nations’ chances of winning matches in their own country will have an effect on the Euro 2012 betting odds for games in which they are involved; a factor that should certainly be considered by punters betting on the tournament.
